Tim Lincecum > Clayton Kershaw
fuckyeahtimlincecum: Kershaw plays for the Dodgers, first of all.  Let’s get that out of the way. Oh and Tim doesn’t listen to Taylor Swift. Lincecum: 15-7, 2.48 ERA, 4 CG, 2 ShO, 261 K, 1.05 WHIP, 225.1 IP Kershaw: 8-8, 2.79 ERA, 0 CG, 0 ShO, 188 K, 1.28 WHIP, 171.0 IP This is what I found most interesting, though: Lincecum averaged 10.42 K/9, while Kershaw averaged 9.74....

cornerinfielder: acordova: cornerinfielder: Fantastic job, voters. The reason he didn’t win is because he got nearly 0 second-place votes, leaving him to die. If the formula is 5F + 3S + T, having only 5 second-place votes while everyone else had above 10 will kill you. That being said, Lincecum did not win a single category, so I think it can be said (or at least argued) that the...

Tim Lincecum, 2009 NL Cy Young Winner
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I do believe this is the first time that a pitcher has won the Cy Young award in his first two seasons at the professional level. Now that is what I call dominance.

When Style > Function…
Joe Hewitt, the former Facebook for iPhone developer (amongst other things), recently tweeted: At 0:51 of the video, Madhava Enros, designer for Firefox Mobile, shows an example search for “youtube.” However, youtube.com AND www.youtube.com appear as results three and four, respectively. Um, shouldn’t they be, oh I don’t know, first?

Why Tim Lincecum Should Win The Cy Young Award →
What, you want more? Chris Carpenter missed a month and gave up six earned runs to the Giants, which is a sin so egregious he should be ineligible for next year’s award as well. Adam Wainwright had more wins, but Lincecum’s middle name is LeRoy, so those two equally important pieces of information cancel each other out. This is why I love McCovey Chronicles.

pazin: the geometry and shape of bicycles has generally withstood the test of time, give or take some slight evolution. so naturally, leave it to some hotshot design firm to completely turn shit upside down and throw around their minimalism. jruiter + studio tried to fix what’s not broken, in this case the commuter bike. merely looking at a picture of the end result both induces saddle burn in...

Hensley Meulens Named Giants Hitting Coach
So the Giants have announced, as expected, that our new hitting coach is none other than Hensley “Bam Bam” Meulens, Triple-A hitting coach for the Fresno Grizzlies. As part of their rationale, the Giants tout the Grizzlies’ sixth-highest batting average (.275) in the Pacific Coast League, specifically noting John Bowker (.342) and Jesus Guzman (.321). He’s also credited...
