Mac Pro For Sale
I’m selling my “old” Mac Pro. This machine replaced a bugged Power Mac G5 a few years ago, and has been flawless ever since. Upgraded to 4GB RAM, 2 500GB hard drives, and a bunch of extras. Has AppleCare until August 15, 2009.

How the MLB Can Make International Baseball...
While I was watching last night’s World Baseball Classic finale between Japan and Korea, I wondered why the United States continually does relatively poorly (aside from a Gold Bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics) in international tournaments. More importantly, I wondered why the American public as a whole does not care about international baseball tournaments.
The main complaint from US...

Rolling Over In His Grave →
Balloon Juice:
If our entire era could be described in a single picture, it would be this one (from Fairfield County Look via TPM): the current head of AIG Financial Products (the division that lost all the money) wearing a Che Guevara tee-shirt at a cocktail party.
Che is rolling over in his grave.
Dear Brightkite
This is fucking unacceptable.
Please learn how to make a photo album and post the link once. Thank you in advance.
Happy 26th Birthday. Your Life As You Know It is...
My cousin Michaela is moving to North Carolina without her daughter. Her daughter, my niece, just turned 2 years old in September. She is leaving her with her mother, a drunk and a drug addict, and her brother, a ~21 year old unemployed gay male. Where I come from, that is called child abandonment and endangerment.
The following is an iChat conversation with my sister, referring to text messages...
Pizzeria Delfina Adds One-Star Yelp Reviews to... →
7x7:
Delfina is taking back the night, so to speak. Instead of simply bitching about Yelp, they’ve made Yelp their bitch and taken quotes from one-star reviews posted on Yelp about the pizzeria and made them into T-shirts for their staff to wear. (They also have one that simply says, “This place sucks,” a quote from yet another typically eloquent and insightful Yelp review.) The...
More Creepy Goodness
Note: This “alexis” is not me. This edited chat transcript (I took out all the chat not related to this) is from some stupid thing called StickCam that I wasn’t even on.
alexis: Is that Bonks boyfriend? This is his conscience looking for him. Tell him to stop doing that.
alexis: I can read lips. Besides I’m his conscience. I know what he is thinking.
alexis: You...
Valleywag Confirms Apple Layoffs. Wait, No They... →
Valleywag:
Valleywag’s Apple layoff rumors have apparently been confirmed by a source in Apple’s enterprise group: 50 jobs cut, all in sales
Then, later on:
Update: According to Business Insider, an Apple spokesperson says this story is untrue.
My girlfriend’s response: “Did Ryan Block join Valleywag?” Couldn’t have said it better myself.
GG Valleywag. You...

Repost: Dropped IE support for Instapaper
I’m not going to repost all of this, mainly because it’s rather long (I highly suggest reading the full article), but it’s an interesting look at why one would drop support for Internet Explorer (IE). I recently added a little note for IE users when visiting the sweater brigade, mainly because I don’t have the energy to debug for it. Marco goes into a lot more detail.

These latest link posts seem to have a theme, but this is great news for those of you out there that like, well, justice and the rule of law.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration threw open the curtain on years of Bush-era secrets Monday, revealing anti-terror memos that claimed exceptional search-and-seizure powers and divulging that the CIA destroyed nearly...
