Fantastic job, voters.
The reason he didn’t win is because he got nearly 0 second-place votes, leaving him to die. If the formula is 5F + 3S + T, having only 5 second-place votes while everyone else had above 10 will kill you.
That being said, Lincecum did not win a single category, so I think it can be said (or at least argued) that the Cardinals’ vote-splitting lead to a Lincecum victory.
I was just laughing at the irony of how he had the most first-place votes and finished third….
Oh, I know. It doesn’t make logical sense. But if that’s the formula, then it makes perfect sense!
